Why I won't offer boudoir minis anymore.I bet your newsfeed has been filled with announcements for Valentine's Day boudoir minis from almost every photographer you know, right? How's a reputable boudoir studio supposed to compete with a mini sesh, hair + makeup, and a few digis for as low as $150? More importantly, how are YOU supposed to know who to book, who is good, who will honor your curves, and who is just trying to make a quick buck, to fund their own V-Day plans at the JW? Impossible! A few major downfalls of minis:
- You're super limited on time.
- You only get 1 outfit.. maybe 2 if you're lucky.
- Hair + makeup time and styles are limited.
- There is no time to get personal.
- You usually only get 5-10 digital images. No tangible products, or enough to create your own album.
Nothing about that screams luxury experience, service, and products that I want for MY friends. Don't get me wrong, years ago when I started offering boudoir to everyone, I started with a Valentine's Day mini shoot. It was the thing to do, and for some, it's still the thing to do. I am not a fly-by-night studio, I do not need to make a quick buck, and I don't want to offer sessions without getting to know you and being able to tell your story.
I really hope the answer is no. Look, I'm not here to be the cheapest photographer on the block. I'm here to be the best. I'm here to offer a unique experience, and capture your personality, your beauty, and your sexy momma-ness. (I just made that last one up, but you know what I mean. ) I don't want you to leave with 5 or 10 images on a disc or usb, that you're going to look at once, and then forget about. I want you to have a quality album, that'll hold up for years, to all the times in your life, or in your marriage that you want to take it out of that nightstand and look at it. Those days, when the kids are crazy, you didn't even get a shower, and you're rocking pj's all day, that you slept in the night before. Take that book out, and remember that you're damn sexy! When you hit a point in your marriage when maybe you stop remembering what it feels like to be young and fun again. Or even when you're single, and you're just effin tired of men being jerkfaces! Break out a bottle of wine and your album, maybe watch a little "Thelma & Louise" and have yourself a LADIES ONLY night (will make exceptions for boy furbabies, though). My point is, minis suck. They just suck. They don't give you the experience and product that you REALLY want... and that you deserve. They're the fast food of the boudoir world. They have their place, but you know you're just going to be left hungry again in an hour, and kicking yourself for going anyway. When you're ready to make your reservation, with this Five Star Experience, we'll be here for you.
Do you really want to trust a cheap deal, for your most intimate session?
