Hello 2014!

You can’t welcome a new year without saying a proper goodbye to the previous one, right? 2013, was truly a whirlwind for me and the Nine 23 brand. I had a tough, but rewarding journey to find a new studio. I found amazing partnerships with PillowTalk in Carmel, Barbara’s New Beginnings in Fishers, and maybe most important of all, I found our very own Kristina from KB Hair & Makeup.  I was featured by Millers, one of the top professional printing labs in the world and will have an album on display at all of their conventions in 2014.  I photographed over 50 women, 5 weddings, and 10 families. As you know, I purposely did not accept many weddings or family sessions in 2013 in anticipation of my move to only offering Boudoir photography.   I provided quite a few albums and folio boxes to anxious grooms on their wedding nights, and I know we sent out close to 15 albums that were  unwrapped on Christmas morning.  I absolutely loved the emails, comments, and feedback that kept coming in from all my clients over the year. Below is just a taste of the amazing ladies (and gents) I’ve gotten to work with in 2013 <3

2013 In Review

With all that being said, I welcomed 2014 with so much excitement I could almost burst, and of course this amazing new blogsite designed and put together by my best friend Aliy from Maverick Media!  She’s amazing with design work, she’s a doll to work with, and she also made a pretty awesome studio mate the last 6 months.   2014 also brings new adventures for me, and you!  As you’ve read, in March I’ll be hosting a kick-ass boudoir event in Nashville, TN.  Yep! Music City!  I’ve found the perfect venue at The Cotton Mill Studios. For more info and registration, check out the deets here.  There are many other adventures planned throughout the year that I’ll be unveiling little by little, so subscribe to the blog and be sure not to miss out on them.  😉

Since 2013 rocked so much, it made me sit down and really think what is it, I want from 2014.  So I wrote down my business goals, as I do every year. Only this year I’m going to do something a little different and I’m going to share them.  I’ve spent the last 4.5 years professionally photographing people, and for all of those years, I’ve kept to myself, kept my head down, and thought my talent alone would get me where I wanted to go.  2013 taught me some hard truths. You have to put yourself out there, you have to share yourself with the world.  Yes, some people might not like you, and I’ve certainly encountered my share of jealous, snarky, and rude people, but in putting myself out there more I’ve encountered far more kind, generous, and loving people.  So one of my personal goals in 2014 is to be unapologetically me.  This year my goals aren’t an entire page long, they’re just 4 epic things that I want to accomplish in 2014 with your support.

<3 Photograph 60 women

<3 Get Published (preferably in print)

<3 Host a Kick-Ass event filled with ladies, laughs, and lots of gooood food

  • […] I want to talk about the goals for 2015.  Last year, I only set a few goals for myself (see them here), and we were so close to meeting them. We just fell a bit short of our goal to photograph 60 […]
